Like all breeders, we continue to learn every day. We don’t claim to have all the answers, but the knowledge and experience gained over many years of raising and breeding animals and livestock eased the transition into owning and breeding goats has helped us and we hope the information we share will help others on their own Pygmy Goat journey.
As breeders of these wonderful little animals, we are responsible for the Pygmy Goats we bring into the world and believe it is important to always keep learning, ask questions, seek evidence and share knowledge openly.
Pygmy Goat specific information in Australia is not easy to find. While not surprising given limited genetics and the lengthy time its taken for the breed to progress from majority Australian Miniature Goat genetics to majority Pygmy Goat genetics, the inability to find answers to many of the specific questions we have had about the breed has been frustrating.
Through both our successes and our mistakes, our goal is to share the information we have gained to contribute in a small way to the ongoing development of Pygmy Goats in Australia and help others care for their goats with confidence, make informed decisions and continue learning alongside us.
